South Haven Jazz Festival, a 2021 JSJA winner, starts September 16

Sunset over Lake Michigan, Fall in South Haven, and Jazz – John Stites Jazz Awards is excited to share an invitation to the South Haven Jazz Festival.  The South Haven Jazz Festival won a 2021 JSJA award which enabled them to bring jazz trumpeter and Concord Recording artist Wayne Bergeron to the Festival.  Bergeron played with the legendary Maynard Ferguson for many years.  The Festival is free and will take place September 16-17.  Friday’s events begin at 5:30 pm and Saturday’s start at 4:30 pm.

The John Stites Jazz Awards (JSJA) are funded by the John Stites Jazz Artist Organization, honoring the memory of John Stites and his passion for jazz music.

The organization funds:

  • Advanced studies for emerging and established professional jazz musicians
  • Concerts, competitions and projects that expand jazz audiences and the appreciation of jazz in or near communities in the Midwest
