2022 JSJA Winner Hart Arts Series – November 18

The Hart Community Performing Arts Series will present NYC-based trumpeter and vocalist Benny Benack III and highly regarded jazz vocalist Lauren Henderson in concert on November 18. The concert will take place at 7:30 pm in Hart, Michigan, and will follow a master class with Benack and Henderson for high school jazz band musicians from seven area schools. This event is a special performance celebrating the 150th concert sponsored by the Hart Series over its 23-year history. The Hart Community Performing Arts Series is honored to be recognized by the JSJA for their jazz programming and educational efforts.

The John Stites Jazz Awards (JSJA) are funded by the John Stites Jazz Artist Organization, honoring the memory of John Stites and his passion for jazz music.

The organization funds:

  • Advanced studies for emerging and established professional jazz musicians
  • Concerts, competitions and projects that expand jazz audiences and the appreciation of jazz in or near communities in the Midwest
